Topher Grace and Dan Fogler star in Young Americans
Young Americans takes us back to 1988, when suit sleeves were rolled up, Roseanne was number 1 on TV and college grads could dream of anything, including working for Goldman Sachs.
Twins Matt (Topher Grace) and Wendy Franklin (Anna Faris) and their friend Barry (Dan Fogler) are the recent college grads in question who are trying to figure out what direction they want to take in their lives. The flick follows them on their journey, including one big end of summer, Labor Day party.
At the party Matt also has to try to find a way to get his dream girl, Tori Frederking (Teresa Palmer), to notice him, which is where Goldman Sachs comes in to play.
Side note: I think it’s hilarious that Goldman Sachs is the bank that gets used in this flick after everything that has happened in this recession. Especially since this movie started filming in 2007, long before the trouble began.
Word is that the flick is loosely based on the Bowie classic, Young Americans, but after listening to the song and taking a look at the lyrics I’m not sure how accurate that statement will be.
Young Americans is set to hit theatres January 28, 2011.
